India’s leading telecom operator, Airtel, has just announced a game-changing move that has left users pleasantly surprised. Introducing new data booster packs aimed at helping users on lower daily data plans upgrade to 5G services, Airtel’s latest offering is a response to recent price hikes in prepaid and postpaid plans, which aimed to boost the Average Revenue per User (ARPU). The price increase of around 20 percent initially restricted access to 5G data to plans offering 2GB or more of daily data. However, Airtel’s new booster packs now offer a fantastic solution for users with 1GB or 1.5GB daily data plans.
New Booster Packs to Access 5G Data
Airtel’s new booster packs are priced at Rs 51, Rs 101, and Rs 151, offering additional data allowances of 3GB, 6GB, and 9GB respectively. These packs can be added to existing daily data plans, enabling users to enjoy unlimited 5G data for the remaining validity of their current plan. With these booster packs, Airtel aims to ensure that users can continue their daily activities, such as work, study, and entertainment, without interruption, all while experiencing the high-speed benefits of the 5G network.

- Rs 51 booster pack: 3GB data add-on
- Rs 101 booster pack: 6GB data add-on
- Rs 151 booster pack: 9GB data add-on

Affordable 5G Data Plans
In addition to the booster packs, Airtel offers several affordable 5G data plans starting at Rs 249, providing a variety of benefits tailored to meet different user needs. For postpaid customers, the most economical 5G plan is available at Rs 449.
Competitor Moves
Airtel’s competitor, Reliance Jio, also introduced three new 5G data booster plans for prepaid users with 1GB or 1.5GB daily data plans. Priced at Rs 51, Rs 101, and Rs 151, these plans are listed under the True Unlimited Upgrade section on the Jio website and are valid for the same duration as the user’s existing active plans. These booster plans offer 3GB, 6GB, and 9GB of 4G mobile data, respectively, along with unlimited 5G data. In areas with limited 5G connectivity, the plans revert to consuming from the user’s 4G data quota.

- Rs 51 plan: 3GB of 4G mobile data
- Rs 101 plan: 6GB of 4G mobile data
- Rs 151 plan: 9GB of 4G mobile data
Jio has made these new 5G data booster plans accessible and convenient to purchase through its website, My Jio app, nearby Jio stores, and UPI-based apps such as Google Pay, Amazon Pay, PhonePe, and PayTM.
With the introduction of these new data booster packs, Airtel is making it easier for users on lower daily data plans to access 5G services, thereby enhancing their digital experience.
